I can not understand how a man could do a remix to a song that was done decades ago, and win the title of Soca Monarch 2008!!

Worse yet, a man by the name of Iwer George, who has NO LYRICAL CREATIVITY came in second with "Over Yuh Head". "Make ah passa passa in de Carnival"??? Clearly this man has nothing of substance to put into Soca here in Trinidad. He needs to retire and continue running his radio station full-time.

No one has even given Fay-Ann Lyons a thought in the world!!!! How in the world she come 3rd?? What rock did she crawl out from?

Nadia Batson is a new comer to the Soca arena with greater promise than the other three wash-outs. What ever happened to "Breathless" by Blaxx??

Its wonderful to see Bunji has proved to be one of the best AGAIN!!!! However do not agree with the no lyrics man Mr Iwer George. And again they have done an injustice to my girl Patrice Roberts.You are my Groovy Soca Monarch winner Patrice!!!

I think that it's time Judges in Trinidad judge fair. I mean come on man..... Iwer George has no right in the second position. Fay-Ann in second then Nadia. For all I care Iwer could come last. Please. But I must say that I am Happy as hell with the first Position man. Bunji desreved that position and the groovy results was satifying. I'm Grenadian and it's time these trini-Judges or whoever they are stop thief. LOL

I was rooting for Patrice for the Groovy title. I'm am seriously tired of Shurwayne.

Bunji is a good performer and Fiery is a hot song (no pun intended). But Iwer in second place with that nonsense he sing........I honestly do not get it. I also did not agree with him coming first last year.

What happened to Blaxx with Breathless. I know he is not the best performer live......neways I hope Breathless takes the Road March

I would like to know what is the criteria for the judging of the power soca monarch finals? There was no way possible that Iwer George could have beaten Faye-Ann Lyons. This just goes to show that there are "other forces" involved in the soca industry who will continue to control and rub artiste who TRULY DESERVE to win.

I saw it with my own two eys......No body had a bigger crowd response than Fayann. Her stage presence, her presentation and crowd command were off the charts. The only other person that could have beat Fayann in performance last night was Machel Montano and he did not enter. I wonder how much it costs to by the soul of a judge in dat competition. It probably didn't cost that much. Its a coincidence that both winners are sponsored by Bmobile(de main sponsor of de competition). I'm not sorry to say that Shurwayne and Bungi's performances were BORING!!! Sad......Trinidad really gone to de dogs, we selling out we own music. Everyone deserves a chance to be in de spotlight but a small group refuses to give others that chance. Welcome to the land of sea, sand and bulls@#t!!!

Its amazing how silly we can be..Rikki T did not win cause hes not Trini...LOL!! Farmer Nappy stole Tennyson's song, and if i heard right Tennyson said politics caused him not to make it to the finals...so i wonder y there were no politics with problem child, nika, tizzy and the antiguans. I have been listening to TnT radio and hear the ppl talking about how great it is to see so many other islanders making it big here but we st lucians always have issues (RORO). Rikki T name did not appear in the list of nominees for the music awards in the power soca category...WOW!!! We Lucians have to move a step up and appreciate what we have...don't wait for someone like Machel to appreciate what we have here and pull him in his band for TnT 2k8. So instead of quarrelling about the million dollars injected into carnival start supporting it!!!

Shurwayne Winchester's performance was extraordinary. It was excellent, congrats to him. Faye Ann deserved first place in the Power soca competition as her performance was flawless.

Fay-Ann Lyons and blaxx was the 2 best performance at the soca monarch Blaxx had a more energetic sound but Fay-Ann had a better presentation so it should of went Fay-Ann 1st and Blaxx 2nd

Fay Ann did deserve first place and Iwer really getting out of style. d only ting I even care to understand bout he song is Passa Passa. wey d hell he cum out wit outa-timing 'over yuh head'. Amatures...Super stars still in competition

What I can not understand... Trinidad is the only country where I am seeing The Super Stars are still entering competition to earn a living...they should not be call Super Stars they should be called Amatures not Super Stars...I think they should leave the competitions for new up & coming rising stars.People like Iwer George and Bunji etc are already establish why still enter Soca Monarch..like they not making money with their tours...they should leave the competition or make way for new up and coming artiste.... They should star acting like real..Super Star...They should star acting like Machel Montano, Destra Gracia, Alison Hinds, Maximus Dan and KMC
Come on... stop looking sooo desperate...and start acting like established Super Stars...
