St Lucia 2008 Soca Releases - Favourites so far
I like how the soca music releases for St Lucia Carnival 2008 are shaping up. So far my favourites are Mantius - Skin To Skin, Ashanti - Wine On Your Boom Boom, Ricky T - Party Cya Done and TC Brown - Pass It. These are really big songs particularly the first three. Big up to the artistes, arrangers and producers.
There are a few others I like as well. These include Roll by Jalena featuring Nigel Nicholas, (big up Slaughter Arts) Emrand Henry - Light Up De Ghetto and Baby Come Home by Marie-Anne.
I like Teddyson's song although it sounds a little like a Kevin Lyttle remake of Home For Carnival.
Ninja Dan's I will survive has a good message but just not one of my favourites. Knowing Ninja's talent, I'm sure he has some big tracks to release as St Lucia carnival 2008 progresses.
Kakal's song Goodbye is nice but a little too much on that auto tune in the production. I guess they had to use auto tune to help his voice. Not sure if it worked. He's a leading St Lucian soca artist so expect big things.
I know this is just the start of great things to come and I look forward to a great carnival season.
Just my thoughts. You can agree or disagree.
