St Lucia Soca Artist Ninja Dan Held by Police For Questioning on Murder Incident

You may know by now that popular soca entertainer Ninja Dan is being questioned for the murder of Dwayne James A.K.A Chubby. Chubby was stabbed at Arundel Hill in Marchand on Saturday, February 14. According to official reports Ninja Dan went to the police station himself. The soca artist has been in police custody since Saturday.

According to the post mortem conducted on Monday February 16, James died of hemorrhagic shock secondary to multiple stab wounds. No one has been charged as yet.

Ninja Dan is known for popular soca hits like Karate, Labouwe, Outside Man and Rise. He won the Caribbean soca monarch competition in 2007.

The St Lucian artist has been a strong anti-violence campaigner and is a founding member of RISE St Lucia Inc. RISE is an acronym for Respect, Reality Initiative, Industry Social Health, Society building Education, Enterprise, Empowerment.

As a fellow St Lucian soca artiste, all I can say is that it is a sad day and let justice prevail. Sincere condolences go out to the family of the deceased.
