This is long coming for the Might Herb Black - Talent at the highest egchilon of Soca is what I call Herbby's performance last night. I cannot fathom the fact that anyone else would win this BUT Herb Black. All I can say now to herb Black is "Where is your Mother to see you" Please say that in creole. His mom I am sure would be more than proud of him. Black Pearl - you are the driving force behind your brother and I applaud you too girl. Keep up that great spirit. By the way - I love this site BIG TIME!!!!! Big Up to Mantius.

Congrats to Herb Black! I am a US citizen who was in St Lucia during Carnival for 2 weeks and enjoyed the music and culture. I have been looking to download or purchase music by many artists there, especially herb black. I can find barely one of them on the internet, via legal (and even illegal) download channels (we mostly use itunes and amazon). I have been adding and listening to music via imeem luckily, but even there, not every song exists.

It would be amazing and conducive to spreading soca/calypso, if many of the popular bands could get their songs and albums in full, onto the Internet and popular pay-for-download services that exist. I do not pay for much music, but I would seriously pay $5-8 USD each to download a herb black, mantius, or ninja dan full cd. Either that or select songs. Me along with hundreds of other tourists and new fans. Unless there is some online source I am unaware of, there is a market for spreading and selling Island music that is not being tapped. Start your own label and take it international Mantius!
