i am a soca junkie. I appreciate other genres of caribbean music, but I find over the years that proponents of other caribbean music especially reggae enthusiasts do not share the plaform adequately with Soca music and soca artistes in the vancouver marketplace. Given the opportunity they will play Reggae music all the time and every time. Not only is that unfair to listeners, but it is also disrespectful to all of us. Also, there is a need to highlight soca singers from other caribbean island. Trinidad is not the only caribbean island whose artistes sing and compose soca songs.The list is long.. so let's be fair,and more so tell me how we can get more soca music and a variety of more soca artistes to perform here in vancouver.
