Soca artiste Arrow of Hot Hot Hot fame is dead.
Mantius and socafreak.com wishes to express sincerely condolences to the family, friends, relatives and fans of the late soca artist, Alphonsus Cassell, more popular known as Arrow, who died today, September 15, 2010. He died in Monsterrat, his country of birth. The soca superstar had battled with a brain tumor.
This is a great loss to the soca/calypso music industry and fraternity. Arrow was the Caribbean's most successful soca entertainer.
Arrow is the first artiste to put soca and calypso music on the map with the biggest soca hit ever, Hot Hot Hot
. Hot Hot Hot has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, and millions of copies recorded in twelve different languages, and different versions.
Arrow is the first calypso soca artist to be awarded the prestigious MBE by the Queen for his service to music.
His music will live on. May he rest in peace.
