Hi everyone. What are your top ten 2008 soca songs so far for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival? Here is my list:

Iwer George - Over Your Head

Iwer George - Over Your Head, I heard that song from Grenada for a guy called SOCA BANTON. Same chorus. Guess he probably paid him for it.

Iwer song Over you head is a straight tief from Grenada last year roadmarch, it was even called over you head, the tune is the same, the words is the same everything!

Iwer George and Soca Banton, Over Your Head

I totally disagree with the suggestion that Iwer George stole from Soca Banton. Songs can have the same title and the only similarity with Soca Banton and Iwer George's songs is the title. If you know anything about music you will realize that songs have always shared titles in history and continue to do so. Why can't the same happen in soca? This is nothing new.

I listened to both songs and don't see the reasons for such outrageous claims of Iwer George "tiefing". The lyrics (apart from 3 words, "over your head") are totally different as well as the melody and music.

i just found out he came to a signed agreement with soca bantan, and in an interview he says he didnt get the chance to listen to soca bantan song. then why would anyone sign an agreement without reviewing the evidence. look, i love soca music and iam not even a west-indian or related to one i just like artiste to get permission before using others material.
