Mantius Cazaubon who is undoubtedly blessed with a singer's voice, and the ability to play a number of musical instruments was born on December 30, 1976 in Castries, St Lucia.
From the tender age of four he began writing his own compositions. He was only ten years old when he taught himself to play keyboards and guitar. A past student of the St Mary's College, he played an active role in the school's music program and was the keyboard player for the School Band.
Upon graduating from the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, Mantius became employed as a school teacher in his beloved home town, Soufriere, but music continued to be his true passion. Besides having formed his own One Man Band, and thrilling American and European guests at various hotels, Mantius played keyboards with several leading bands in St Lucia as well as overseas.
In 1999, he released "Earthquake", an album of eleven songs which featured chart topping songs like "Wine In De Party", "Bend Down", and the title track "Earthquake". In 2002, he was one of the most booked St Lucian artists, with great, addictive hits such as "Make A Round", and "Fire Burn Dem" which placed second in the Road March Competition. He went on to entertain audiences in Aruba, Canada, Trinidad, USA, and the Virgin Islands.
Since then he has dominated the Lucian soca music scene by being the first St. Lucian to win the OECS soca monarch competition in 2003 with the song "I Doing A Ting." In 2004 he repeated the feat by winning with the song "We Making Love". In 2005 he was the first runner up in that competition with the song "Give Us A Reason". In the local party monarch competition he has maintained the envied position of second place for three years in a row.
Mantius Cazaubon is one of the very few soca artists who writes, arranges, composes and produces his own songs. This dynamic soca artist has been labeled St Lucia's most consistent soca artist by his tent the New Generation Soca Stage with an award in 2005.
In 2006 he signed a contract with telecommunications company Cable and Wireless St Lucia Ltd, becoming a member of the Bmobile family which includes the likes of Machel Montano and Beenie Man.
