Looking for an old Soca Christmas Song

by Jude
(NH USA)

this was possibly 10 or more years ago. The lyrics go something like this "Good morning, good morning, how are you dis morning, good morning good morning I come for the Guavaberry". I had the CD and have misplaced it somehow. Every Christmas we dig it out and spend the whole season listening to this CD. There were other songs on it of course but the Guavaberry Song is the one we love the best. I can't even remember who recorded it. I'd love to be able to get a copy again somehow, someway.

Guavaberry song, steel pan
by: Susan

I have a cassette tape that's self-recorded, unfortunately. I made it about 30-35 years ago, probably in the USVI, copied from someone's album. It's labeled "A Steel Pan Christmas", and the frist track is "The Guavaberry Song". It's the one written by Bill LaMotta.
We play it every Christmas morning, dancing and singing, with a glass of guavaberry rum/liquer inhand. That's the only time the guavaberry comes out, since I can't get it in the US!
I love this whole tape, and wish I could get a new copy of it. I can't find it anywhere. If yo have a tape player, I can copy it for you on cassette and send it.
Be well, Susan Manning

This is from the Dread Ones Brass Christmas album. I have the album and I am working on getting it put into my itunes. It is the best Christmas album ever.
