Antiguan Born Native Sensation Laurena Davis (born on November 7th) is one of Antigua's upcoming female soca artistes. With her strong, Melodic, soothing and truly distinct voice, Laurena's aim is to reach for her goals in the music Industry.

'My passion has always been singing. I truly believe that Music is only love looking for words and with my passion for it, I am going to continue putting words to it, to keep music alive'

As most Singers, Laurena's singing background started out singing in the church. Destined for fame she proved to be a prodigy when she began singing with well-known local bands in the Hotel Industry in 2001. Laurena was also blessed to work along with well known Artists such as Jah Cure, Antigua's Reggae Ambassador 'Causion, Edwin Yearwood, Skinny Fabulous, Peter Ram, Mega D and others.

In 2010, Laurena entered the LIME Party Monarch Groovy and Up-tempo Competition in Antigua for the Carnival Celebrations, where she was ranked in the top 5 with her Groovy hit 'BABY' written by Craig Christopher and Produced by Dalton Dyer along with her up-tempo 'READY NOW' written by Laurena herself.

'It was my first competition and the experience was great. Honestly, I had no intentions to enter The Party Monarch at first, but very close friends and family who truly believed in me, encouraged me to do so and now after entering,I have no regrets whatsoever. For me, it was the first time entering into a competition and of course anyone would have gotten cold feet... Now I have tested the big stage I can't wait for Antigua's Carnival 2011. I'm totally Ready to do it once again"


Thereafter, she travelled to Charleston, South Carolina where she performed at the Moja Arts Festival, then to Miami for the Miami Carnival Celebrations. While in Miami, Laurena had her first Video filmed for her hit song 'BABY' done by Norje Productions and Fullwerks.

'I'm very Humbled with my accomplishments thus far and also for what's in the making and for what is to come ahead. 2010 was only the beginning for me. There is a lot of work ahead and with dedication and commitment the name 'Laurena Davis' along with the Tonik Band Family is destined to make our mark.

Laurena who is now the new lead Vocalist of the Tonik Band aims to pursue her musical career, going forward and taking her career not only Locally but to an International Level.
