2012 Iwer George - (Jab) No Pain

Iwer George's (Jab) No Pain is a top contender for the International Soca monarch and Trinidad and Tobago Road March title. The riddim is a Jab Jab riddim and the song has a lot of elements from last year's "Come To Meh" by the same artiste.

(Jab) No Pain by Neil Iwer (The Boss) George

Last year it was felt by many that Iwer George should have won the soca monarch title but to the disappointment of Iwer "The Boss" George and thousands of fans, the title went to Machel Montano.

The song addresses the fact that Iwer failed to win the two million dollars that was at stake. His opening line is "If you know they rob me last year put your two hand in de air". He later says "they take away me two million".

Many have said that the song is copy and paste, particularly in terms of the riddim. But the fact remains that Iwer George - No Pain is doing some serious damage for Trinidad and Tobago carnival 2012. The "trick" is working. Certainly one of my favourites.

Since Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons are staying out of the soca monarch competition this year, the competition is clearly between Machel Montano and Iwer George. Let's see how far (Jab) No Pain takes The Big Man in the Business as Iwer is otherwise known. It's a great opportunity to vindicate himself.

The song was produced by Andrew 'Hitz' Phillip, edited By Leo, mixed By Andrew "Hitz" Phillip & Martin "Mice" Raymond, mastered By Martin "Mice" Raymond.
